Just shows how quickly things can change in NBA. It’s why I find all this discussion of “timelines” so silly.

I'm not saying its impossible for this team to be contending during Flagg first contract.  I'm simply saying I don't think the FO should be operating under the mindset that it is their best window to compete.

Again, it depends on one's definition of contending. Yours is clearly different than DallasMaverick.

When you put it like that, I totally agree. If all goes well, that's about when I'd expect the team to have reason to think aggressively.

Obviously there will be different conversations in two years depending on where this team is at.  But if you really think your best window is within the next three years, that will affect your decisions now.  It sounds like you don't want to operate under that mindset right now so we are basically saying the same thing.  We can talk about what makes sense for the team in two years in two years.
