PRESEASON GAMES: Dec 17 MIN 730pm

If it gets to that point, the team acquiring him no longer has to clear the space and can operate as an over-the-cap team. All I'm saying is that there will be options.

Good points, correct me if I am wrong but if he does a sign and trade, can he still do a Max contract?

1) DFS at the 4 and DP at the 5 continues to not work. I am nervous for getting off to a slow start if RC runs with that while KP is out.

2) JRich is the real deal and I LOVE, LOVE the fit next to Luka. He looks like a championship piece. Amazing the Mavs were paid my boy Bey to take him. Crazy.

3) Still not seeing THJ as a championship piece. I think he is better than Barnes, but he just doesn't have what I think the Mavs need to pull this altogether.

4) WCS needs more minutes. The defense instantaneously got so much better in both games with him playing. And that shot looks promising. The Mavs desperately need him while KP is out and I hope RC starts leaning on him (WCS does look a little winded, so maybe getting into shape still?).

5) Still think the Mavs have "hit" on all four rooks. Loving what I am seeing from Green and clearly RC is trusting him already (Green looks like a vet of RC's system already, just crazy). I was wrong on my scouting eval of him. Also glad to see Bey as the second rook off the bench. He doesn't look quite as comfortable as Green yet, but once he is able to start playing "faster" I think he is going find a great niche as a role player wing. Terry needs to stop picking up his dribble....he is struggling to get what it means to be PG in RC's system, but that is understandable. I still think he will develop into a solid bench player.

1.  Fortunately, that won't be an issue once KP comes back.  What will be an issue is what to do with six starters?  I'm not willing to make a judgement on Powell until 45-60 days in.  I think he is surpassing expectations, which is important, but ultimately that isn't what matters.  He'll be judged by his production, not a feel good story.  KP will give him a ton more room to operate.

2.  Anyone who knew anything about JRich in Miami knew this was coming.

3.  40% from 3 THJ is fine.  36% from 3 THJ (at his volume) is a problem.  Tell me which one shows up this year and (and how many games KP plays) and I think I can come close to predicting our win total for the season.

4.  We saw the videos and read the reports of WCS putting up 3's in the offseason.  Him doing what he did tonight changes everything.  I like him exactly where he is with Maxi/Green and the two mini-me guards.  Frankly I'd prefer he'd have gotten the minutes Johnson got in the first half.  But, I do like that Carlisle is making him earn it.  Our bench may be incredible (except on 1 for 10 nights from Burke, but so far he seems to be playing within himself and we have other options among the bench players).

5.  The only rookie that matters in 20/21 is Green.  I saw some really good things from him tonight.  If we have 6 starters and a 5 man bench (maybe six depending on how you count Johnson) there won't be room for anyone else.  I hope Carlisle finds at least 6-8 minutes for Green every half.  His D is part of what makes Burke work (plus Maxi Brunson and WCS are good defenders too).  If he can hit some open 3's and keep teams honest by taking it to the hole occasionally this could be an unbelievable bench (pardon me if I'm repeating myself).  There is something there, but it needs to be developed with a consistent role and minutes.

No.  Not the 35% max until he's played 10 years.

This is what I fear. MBT gets the first dibs on trading for Giannis during the season. Bucks ask for all our glourious backups in exchange for there 1 super star.

We either 1) Take the deal and gut our bench or
               2) Say no, risk that we didn't want Giannis and he goes to a team willing to go all in for him. Offseason, does not resign with us despite having the supermax.

Idc, I llove our bench. We got 9 players that could potentially be a starter in a few years. Deep and versatile teams are the ones that could take you to championships.

If Giannis wants to come here, than you give anything except Luka, period.  However if you can somehow keep Richardson, Dodo, and THJ than you do it.  Richardson looks very good in preseason.  He plays within the game not hero ball which makes him a perfect starter.

Superstars win championships. Deep teams make it easier for superstars to win championships.

If the Bucks call and ask for a bunch of role players in return for Giannis, you never hang up the phone and get the deal done that second.

You can ALWAYS find role players, their job description inherently means there is an abundance of them. You can almost NEVER find a Giannis.

There is no way the Bucks trade Giannis though, and to be frank if Giannis wanted to come here, there'd be no reason to trade for him and gut the team.

Giannis is staying in Milwaukee. Just signed his extension.

D'Angelo Russell is OUT tonight with ankle soreness.

This game should be a field day for the Mavs imo.

Is that so? In that case, some low key pistol action should suffice..on defense I expect him to draw some charges  Smile
