AROUND the NBA:

Phoenix Suns guard Dillon Brooks has sustained a broken left hand and will be sidelined, sources tell ESPN. Doctors will meet to determine a timetable. Brooks is a key part to the playoff-contending Suns, averaging 21+ points and 3+ rebounds this season. Difficult injury blow.

Phoenix is starting to slide a bit. Injuries to Booker and now Brooks hasn't helped. They got popped by Portland 92-77 last night.

Yeah, I think they will fall in the play in range.  Quite the development where everyone thought they would be this year.  A little disappointing I guess for Suns fans after their hot start.    A play in grouping of Suns, Warriors, Clippers and Trail Blazers is pretty fun though.   The question is do any of these teams steal a spot from the Rockets or Lakers?  I would guess no, but a poorly timed injury could have a big impact.

Should be a fun run to the end of the season.

I didn't see the Celtics vs Lakers game yesterday.  Is this accurate? Or just spur of the moment hot sports talk gibberish?

LOL. Who will be the player that gets announced as misses the rest of the season, cause he´s getting breast implants?

Gotta hand it to Ainge - cue Carly Simon's Bond theme.

The Mavs are in something of a fix regarding this approach because the obvious mothball candidate for tanking is Flagg, and you really don't want to do that, both for his ongoing development and because he would end up losing ROY to Kon. But to obtain the same effect with other options, you'd have to mothball about 5 of our other best players.

It's legit. I watched that game, and Luka was bitchin' at the refs for lack of calls all game. I admit he had a legitimate gripe on some; but Boston got a steal after he thought he was fouled, and he didn't get back on defense, and his man (Boston rookie Hugo Gonzalez) sprinted down the court for a layup. He's played in the NBA long enough to know that the refs still aren't going to make every call, whether you think you were fouled or not. Looks like old habits are starting to resurface with him. JJ Redick was incensed, but this comes along with the package that is Luka.

Maybe I'm wrong, but it seems to me Ainge is defiantly sending Silver an F-You regarding tanking.

Pistons couldn't figure out the "Human Eraser" known as Wemby.
He blocked 6 shots.

Stephon Castle might be the best perimeter defender in the league already.

He never really got a real run here, but when he got chances he just didn't take it by the horn.   He is playing for a tanking team, but he has earned minutes lately.   He is the exact type of guy that every team is looking for.   Up until this year, it just didn't show on the floor.   Maybe it is now.  Sometimes it takes a little while.   I thought he might be out of the league soon.   It looks like with a good run, he has a chance to stick around.

Yeah, he's pretty damn good. Forced Cade into a 5-26 night... The Terror Twins (Thompson Twins ) are right there as well.

Not sure which one is correct.

Dammit, why are the Pels fighting tooth and nail to lose when they don't have their pick?

Yeah, but he'd never fit next to Flagg.  Who needs a wing who can self create and hit 75% of his 3's tonight.  It would never work...or some I'm told.

Don't think fit was part of the calculus on that one. He's a great fit with Flagg, if he's any good. Most people around here just don't believe in the guy. The complaints I remember reading have more to do with him being a selfish ball hog who wants to be nothing but a go to scorer.

Marvin Bagley 10/13 from the field tonight. Brandon Williams 9/11 from the field tonight. Better lock all of them up.
