AROUND the NBA:
Clippers have lost 4 in a row. They lost back to back games to the Suns. Now Leonard is out a “few games” with an ankle injury.

Also Norman Powell is averaging 23. Bradley Beal is averaging 7. Oh and the clippers don’t have their first round pick this year. Guess who does?

Cade Cunningham had a career-high 46 pts and a triple-double on 45 shots in a 137-135 win over the Wizards
in OT. Crazy

3 teams in the East are 1-10.  Indy, Brooklyn and Washington.  Of the three, I like the direction of Washington, record withstanding.   I think they finally have a sniff of direction.

This is a year from hell for Indy.   I doubt the fans are too upset with their start.  They still have a good future.  Hali being able to get close to the player he was is important.  A high draft pick might put them in a better spot than they were last year (incredible run not being factored in).

Brooklyn is just hopeless.  I have no idea what they are doing.   They need to get it together quick because soon Houston has some of their picks.

Bradley Beal has a fractured left hip and will undergo season ending surgery. And to think the Clippers gave up on Norman Powell to replace him with Beal. Some bad ju-ju going on in Clipperland.

Basketball aside, that's a horrible injury.  That sucks.

Let's call it like it is -- those 3 teams are heavily invested in tanking for a top pick, and wasting no time in getting started. They all have no real hope at competing for a playoff spot, recognized their situation (rather than gloss over it), and are pursuing the best value they can get out of the season.

In case you're wondering, the Mavs are currently tied for 5th in the draft lottery seeding.

quite the performance by Jokic last night.   I must say if you really focus you can see Jrue Holiday Smile

OMG, you saw that clip, too? I literally couldn’t believe what I was hearing.

Detroit was impressive beating Chicago 124-113 with bench players. Most of their core players were out with injury. Cade, Duren, Harris, Stewart, and Thompson. Paul Reed led them with 28 pts and 13 rebs. Duncan Robinson added 23 with 7 3's. 8 wins in a row to go to 10-2.

Just saw Jalen Johnson almost had an insane quadruple double.

41 pts
18 reb
14 ast
7 stls

That is nuts.

If the Hawks keep this up, can we dream of Young + Pelicans pick for Davis.

Mavs trade Young... for Doncic... for AD... for Young.

How about no?

Yes, I don't know that my primitive brain and lack of emotional maturity could handle the unfortunate irony of that. Even if it was the best deal they could make (I don't think it will be, but even if) I think I'd pass on that. I want absolutely no part of Trey Young.

Gotta continue the cycle - the Mavs would then be able to trade Young for Doncic again!

That unprotected Pelicans pick would be quite a prize though. I'd sign up for quite a bit to somehow get that.

Johnson is a stud. He just can't stay healthy.

Honestly, any deal that includes the Pelicans pick is a yes for me.

But yeah, it will be hilarious.

I still don't think Atlanta would do it. It will be KP and filler, KP being just an expiry.
Pelicans pick is worth a fortune atm, it looks like a potential top 5 pick in a great draft

Fine, then you re-route Young to some other place. Trust me, Young ending up here with only one degree of separation from Luka outgoing is not in the interest of DFW moving on. The tweets write themselves.
