I guess I didn't like to see what looked to me like a Mod/regular poster bullying another one, and maybe that impacted my choice of language. For future reference regarding your concern with aggression:
asking why folks are talking about something != calling an individual poster stupid My goodness you are really determined to turn this around on me. Where is this stupid/dumb talk you’re pinning me on? Since you entered the conversation, I’ve used it once as a demonstration of a word Branduil used earlier in another conversation. I didn’t call you dumb and if you reread the statement without a predetermined bias against me you would understand that. Read the words, not what you think the words say.
Regarding A) what did I contradict? If you mean I stayed on track with the conversation that was being had since the statement saying the discussion was about the 15th man moved the goal posts to a conversation not being had and I didn’t fully understand that since the statement was ambiguous enough and I assumed he was following along…sure, I contradicted myself…
Regarding B) now words are being put in my mouth and I’m calling Branduil something I didn’t say. Is the original statement made by Branduil not the first blood? Now I’m bullying another poster after he clearly started it?
What is your beef mvossman? You’re really reaching here.

Question, did Jalen Smith do enough in Indy that another team offers him their full MLE? Does a team with cap offer more? With his age and skillset there should be a lot of competition. The question is...how much competition. I really believe he could have a jump in his future and you may be getting him at the right age. Just may not be possible for our MLE that we have. We will see.
You can make the case to go hard after Jalen and sign a center at 26 may be the best direction this offseason. I am not quite there for a center at 26 at this point. Although if you were right on both, you really add length to our front court while keeping your assets open for a move in the future.

Forty eight minutes.com did a mock draft where all 30 teams had to make a trade (above). Two interesting things:
1. Not a single trade involved a Mav player. 30 trades and many were 3 team deals and no one went after a player from the WCF qualifier.
2. We traded 26 straight up for Gifford

I know this won't happen, but I have been wondering if there was a gentleman agreement at the KP trade that we would eventually do a deal for Gafford, who couldn't be traded at the time. Again, I know it won't happen and not sure if he is worth the 26 pick straight up, but he does do a few things we really need.

FG often makes the argument that FA’s follow the money and follow the opportunity (for PT). I’d contend we have the best opportunity among any team offering the TP MLE. That will matter when Smith goes to negotiate the next contract. But, if that is our pitch, it may mean we are adding Smith to our existing bullpen of centers (Maxi and Powell) or replacing Powell with Smith, but not adding any more bigs. If you are adding a center (say Holmes for Powell or some such), you can’t make the PT Opportunity pitch to Smith and we may no longer present the best opportunity.
So, besides the questions you raised, I’d also raise the question as to whether we’d be comfortable with a center rotation comprised entirely of Smith/Maxi?

The Houston Rockets have traded PF Christian Wood to the Dallas Mavericks in exchange for the No. 26 overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft and multiple players, per Shams Charania. Here’s a look at the complete package, per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. The deal includes Trey Burke, Marquiss Chriss and Boban Marjanovic going to the Rockets along with the pick.

What is your beef mvossman? You’re really reaching here.
In my opinion the phrase "I don’t know why you don’t understand that" is more aggressive than anything Branduil said. It is basically calling him an idiot for not understanding.
Later, you put words into my mouth and then said "So for you to say, who cares? That’s dumb to me."
Personally I don't think Branduil really drew any blood, but even if you take it that way it was to a general group and not nearly as personal as calling him out directly for not understanding something.
As to the contradiction, its not really that important but if you want me to lay it out, here are the events:
Branduil question why so much talk about 15th player (nothing other than that).
Then you respond with "Because any addition we bring to the roster requires figuring out who goes to make room". That is the first comment related to the concern of who to ditch. The comment I disagreed with that started this shit show. You then questioned why he didn't understand that. You then later replied to me that you didn't really care which of the 5 guys gets dumped as you want all of them dumped.
This is really not that big of a deal to me, but I'm not fond of getting lectured for aggressive language when I feel like you were at least somewhat a culprit as well.

Conservative/non creative. TaxMLE + vet min. Two undrafted guys or eligable free agents on two-ways. But who knows. It seems like the "new" Mavs are thinking outside the box. KP trade was a huge suprise. Just like todays.

Life just got easier for Luka and Brunson. Should be a much more balanced lineup now that there are three legit threats on the court. They need to add a good defensive center with the tax MLE and move off Powell somehow.

Also not sure if this is how the Mavs view the depth chart. Maybe 5-out is the new default. Reducing Powell´s minutes.
More like
Wood / Kleber / Powell
DFS / Bertans
Bullock / THJ
Brunson / Green / Frank (Pinson)
Luka / Dinwiddie
Making a bigger forward the obvious target on the free agent market.

I'm still torn on what position to go for but it'd be so amazing if we could somehow turn some combo of Powell, THJ, Green, and future picks into more of an impact player
I want to keep all the high impact players from this past run and just add to them if possible

Lot easier to stomach this after dumping the bottom 4 on the roster. Probably don't have to worry about Frank getting dumped either.
As great as this trade looks, is it too early for me to be concerned how this is going to be a top 10 defense starting Luka/Brunson/Wood?
