THJ + Green for Hayward + #15
Plumlee into the TPE
works.
Cuban will have to eat some serious sh*t for a year, but on paper this is probably the absolute best the Mavs could hope for, while keeping all future picks in place.
Doncic/Dinwiddie/Ntilikina
Brunson/ X / X
Bullock/Hayward/ X
DFS/Kleber/Bertans
Wood/Plumlee/Powell
Gary Harris would be perfect for back-up SG and then you take Duren, M. Williams, Eason or J. Williams at #15, since Kleber, Wood, Powell and Plumlee expire next summer.
Would be all for it but have to think that for CHA to give up #13 or #15 they are looking for more of a complete salary dump of Hayward. Something like ORL or OKC can provide.

THJ + Green for Hayward doesn't work by the rules.
I think it's moot, however. I seriously doubt Cuban will do a deal that increases his payroll by a big number, because the tax consequences are so massive.

So what’s Cuban’s limit when it comes to Brunson then?

Great question. Tax bill after signing Brunson at $25 mill is....$94 mill.
Add the Room MLE and two min guys and were at....$146 mill.
Do a THJ, Green, Ntlikina (would have to gurantee) for Hayward, Plumlee (TPE) style trade....$238 mill

Who knows? It has sounded like Brunson wants to stay and that there's a wink-wink deal already in place, but we'll see, because if anyone can screw it up, it's Cuban.
I think keeping Brunson is already baked into their financial equation, since there's not a way to replace him with equal talent, and he's a key part of what they've built. And once you plug in a Brunson number like the ones being suggested, that makes the marginal cost super-high on ensuing additions to payroll.

Even if we were good at drafting, and we are not, #15 is still a crapshoot. Is a massive tax bill worth that lottery ticket?

Highly doubt Cuban makes another move that adds salary. The most likely and almost inevitable move will be one that does the opposite.

Selected 10 picks after Josh Green. Nice work again, Bob.

Don't feel bad. A lot of teams whiffed on this kid. His brother plays for the Hornets BTW.

Kyrie is a freaking nutcase. He is a locker room cancer. Wherever he goes he turns teams into a circus. His health is poor as well so he isn't even available.
Despite all of that, examining only the basketball player that is Kyrie he's one of the best scoring guards of all time. If he would to magically turn into a sane version of himself, I can't imagine a better 2 guard next to Luka.
Also helps he's the best dribbler of all time and he's wildly entertaining.
I wouldn't trade for him, but if he wants to come here for the TP-MLE...? Hard to say no to that!

Only way Irving is getting traded is via opting-in. Besides the inability of these teams to acquire him legally, nobody will give him a long term deal. He has a better chance to convince people the earth is flat.
