Nothing is a deal until it is submitted to the NBA for approval, and deal submittal for things already agreed on can be delayed for any number of reasons. Just saying.

Most of the deals involving Murphy have been about a deal to the Atlanta Hawks, a team in need of another high-level perimeter scorer on the wing. Poeltl has also most commonly been packaged with his teammate RJ Barrett in outgoing deals, as Toronto fans have used their combined 2026-27 salary of $49.1 million to go star-hunting in our trade machine. Overall, 84.4 percent of theoretical Poeltl trades in our trade machine have included Barrett.

The fourth Laker on our list, over one-quarter of the trades logged into our trade machine of late have included Jarred Vanderbilt, a 27-year-old defensive-minded forward. Vanderbilt has two years left on his contract, worth $25.7 million, with a player option on the second year. That's not a grossly offensive salary, but it's also not some major value deal, either, not with the way Vanderbilt produces.

Seems like sort of an odd signing by Memphis. Never thought Post as a 10 million a year player. I guess Edey has some injury concerns but that seems pretty pricey.

Intersting how they plan to spout up the Boozer and Stewart minutes if Stewart is getting limited center minutes. They also have a bunch of other PF types.

Memphis typically does smart moves. While this is a small one, it is a little confusing for me.

In regards to Jrue and his age: While I completely agree that he doesn't fit the timeline, he will have a player option next year, and may not be difficult to move. He is also one of those special players who you want to give minutes to because he can still be effective, but at the same time he won't demand minutes. He can be a positive mentor with a championship pedigree, and is special in the way that Kyrie is special. He adds something to the culture being developed in the lockeroom. And there is a need at his position even if it's not a big need.

In other words, if the Mavs traded for him, I could see the angle.

There were some Jrue rumors last year with the Mavs and I was totally out on him.   I feel I am more receptive now though after Smitty mentioned it a few teims.   With the realization that it does not fix our longterm issue in the backcourt and a regression due to age may be coming.    I think he would balance things out.    Can be your second ball handler, would provide a nice rotation at guard with Kyrie, Jrue, and Max (with Sasser being your fourth guard).   

I would just be surprised if he is the guy Portland moves.   I also (obviously) would not want to include any picks in any deals either.

The sides waited for the Lakers to complete their offseason business to pursue a sign-and-trade, but the Lakers didn’t cooperate on an agreement. I wouldn't make much of that though. There's 8 more minutes in an American NBA game than in Europe. The year Doncic was drafted, he was averaging only 12 ppg and only averaged more than that once before he was drafted. Most of his Real Madrid years he was averaging in single digits.

I have been burned by Europeans a lot.  Mostly the guards.  Their highlights look great but you don't see the level of highlights you see in college prospects.   Most come over and while they are excellent players tend to be better suited for overseas than the NBA.  So I tend to take a cautious approach.  If Mike and Masai are both pushing for this though, that is a good sign.   He is a big wing and looks the part shooting.  The ability to move will be the determining factor.    With the coach he plays with, toughness will not be an issue.   

I posted his team's roster last week and they are filled with fringe NBA players.  They have a really deep team.  I also found this interesting that I saw last week from Fran about how the American players going overseas has changed.  They used to be your bucket getters and now they are more your key role players.

Interesting.  I was wondering where his landing spot would be.   He probably would have wanted a longer contract but he gets near MLE.

The Clippers are signing Rui Hachimura by way of their mid-level exception, per source. The two-year, $28 million deal has a team option in the second season, and I’m being told does not rule out Los Angeles from a sign-and-trade pursuit of Nuggets restricted free agent Peyton Watson.

I think him and Sasser could be nice gets.  Both were being phased out with their teams moves.  Dallas swoops in and finds two intriguing bench talents without giving up much (although I hope they replenish some second round picks in future deals).

Yea, I think all our moves including our draft picks are "hmmm interesting let's see if the front office is right."   I'm not necessarily over here fist bumping at the great moves they're making.  Somewhat skeptical.  There seems to be a rush to crown Masai and Schmidt as geniuses and the previous regimes (Donnie) as idiots.  Or maybe it's just that one guy Scott41Mavs.

So far this offseason is a 6/10 for me. There's not much more certainty about our future outlook than there was 3 months ago.

Picks are really where the cupboard is bare for the Mavs. The Mavs have done everything pretty well everywhere else, but the picks need attention.
