Water covers 71% of the Earth, the other 29% is covered by Morez Johnson Jr.

I am legitimately curious if part of our plan with Morez is to see how he does against the Shai and Brunson's of the world as a primary defender.  Especially if they're trying to pair him with another big (please please please just play the kid at center long term though instead....).

It doesn't matter but I remember Sasser's uncles played high school ball in Dallas and made the nba.

We've got Sass and they don't. This team isn't getting punked this year.

are Masai and Scmidt awake?

We definitely need a player like him on the roster. Our more pressing needs are clearly play-making, scoring and shooting at the guard positions, but we do need that one defensive dog. I´d even argue that he has the right size, cause even a guy like DJJ would struggle to stay in front of the quickest guards. Fair question whether Jaden Bradley could have been picked in Round 2 instead of Lawal to fill that role.

I had that up in my room on a Deon Sanders poster as a kid.

I must assume this is fairly disappointing and looks like there’s no true plan. Zero activity or effort to get something done quickly. Seems like they don’t know how to fix this team.

a nba rotation is 8-10 guys. If sasser is one of your top 8 players, you suck. Same for some random 2nd rd pick. I don’t even know who Jaden Bradley is.

I get it. You have to take shots on young players. Nothing against him. Not a bad move.  But trading for him still counts as doing nothing in my book.

if Donnie or Nico had drafted morez johnson and done nothing so far in free agency, people would be losing their shit. I’m trying to be patient but this is lame AF so far.

Has it even been 24 hours into FA?

We have a new coach, new FO (experienced), one of the best new players in the NBA, and a nice draft.... and you just can't keep from complaining.

I'm going to take a break.

Jeryl Sasser - Kimball High and SMU
Jason Sasser - Kimball High, Texas Tech.  Had a cup of coffee with the Mavs at one time too.

Honestly, I get that there hasn't been much to talk about with the Mavs, so far, and that's not fun, exactly.

But, nothing has happened that I feel Dallas should've been in on yet. You could make an argument that Sexton could've/should've been a target, but I don't know that he would've done much for my excitement level. I used up all of that excitement on DLo last summer.

See, this is why they had to have paid Masai far more than any other franchise would have. Clearly a top five basketball man in the league, one of best negotiators in the league, but when he doesn’t execute his plan at the speed that satisfies certain fans, people paint him with the brush of his defective predecessors.

who is one of the best new players in the nba?

Y’all can’t handle a little humor. Instead we gotta hype up Sasser. Team fan forums are so predictable.

Sasser was just part of a 10 man playoff rotation for a 60 win team.

Aren’t you the woman who said that OK and SA were light years ahead of everyone right before they both lost and the Knick’s won?
