I think two things pretty confidently:
1) ATL doesn't want to pay JC.
2) ATL doesn't want to lose him for nothing.
Therefore sign and trade routes are the way I think they will go. And I think DAL and SAS will be both be interested in that route to a certain extent (depending on the asking price).
I don't catch all the posts these days, so don't know if this has been answered. Atlanta seems like a smartly run organization, and JC was instrumental in their playoff run. Seems like they'd want to keep him. Why do you think not?
