What I'm saying is, the other main free agents seem not to want to come here (except Norman Powell, but we'll choose THJ over him, because evidently the defensive end of the floor is a figment of we fans' imagination
) or are spoken for elsewhere. It appears that if we don't get Lowry, we will be gleaning scraps - not like Holmes, but rather MLE-types that we'll pay the amount of money we ought to be paying THJ. This is the final year before Luka's max. To have that happen would be an epic fail. We would be going into next season (and the years to come) with a very slightly superior roster to last year's poopshow. Someone mentioned the unfortunate events of the Wright, JRich, and Burke acquisitions. To have new players only slightly better when 1) this is our final chance to right that ship and 2) we just hired a front office that supposed to be so much better at pursuing this type of model would be disastrous. We have two decent NBA starters in Luka and DFS. Last time I checked, NBA teams need five. Three or four would be nice all things considered. So, yeah, Lowry, or unmitigated disaster, or Scott41 is (very improbably but very happily) wrong.
