Mavs 5-1 when Jackson plays more than 10 minutes
#5
Good observation on the pattern with Jackson.

Clearly Rick Carlisle is still in experimentation on the roster. Getting swept by the Knicks a painful loss but the much more competitive game in the garden looks like the roster may have the right stuff on it for more wins if Carlisle can find and solidify its best mix.
This game he changed it up against the NY again, looking for the mix.

Jackson with his size and mobility and scoring ability seems like a he would counter some of the athleticism and size the Mavs faced against Barrett, Morris etc.
Inside the paint it was good to see some better Boban minutes after a no show in the first Knicks loss. In just a decent Boban showing he still put up a very efficient scoring and rebounding line in just 14 minutes, 10 points on 4/7 and 5 boards without Luka in his 4th quarter rotation.

I'm sort of imagining what the rotations with Jackson would have looked like in that NY game and yeah it looks like it could have been improved and very winnable. Problem is Carlisle has to decide what that optimum rotation is and run with some consistency. Its hard to play everyone on the bench where if a guy is playing a great game one night he might not get minutes in the next game because of the perceived match up.

Right now after Luka / KP its what ever is perceived by Coach as the best match up from game to game it appears and the fact that players performed well in previous games doesn't dictate their minutes next time. That's been part of Carlisle's style though for a long time now.
