Carlisle was quoted for an interesting remark after the Sac loss. With a veteran team, he would concentrate on showing them what went wrong and how they should improve. With a young team like this, he finds himself needing to be in the role of encouraging them to keep believing in themselves after a bad loss. Maybe that was part of the strategy for setting them on fire, rather than taking them to the woodshed.
At any rate, one of the things I most liked, as far as coaching this game went, was that they tried some new things. Like a whole different defensive scheme on Curry, as opposed to just doing the usual and sticking DFS on him or something.
I think we need some new ideas for the stretch run. Maybe Rick was hoping he could save this stuff for the playoffs. But I think breaking some of it out now is good.
