The Dr. Jekyll and Mr.Hyde Mavs continue. That win was cathartic. Therapeutic. This team needed something like that. I needed something like that. Essentially a wire-to-wire blowout against a surging competitor in the western conference.
The team was inspired. Trey Burke played probably one of the best defensive games of any Mav player in the last 5 years. No joke. I truly believe Burke's defense in the first, essentially taking Curry out, is what started the run.
THJ had a bounceback game, though I didn't like some of the shot choices and the defense was still lackadaisical at times.
Luka could've easily had 50+ tonight. He was scoring so effortlessly. Every shot made me audibly scream from joy. I cringe every time he grimaces though and I hope the Mavs have a plan to make sure he's 100% ready to go for the playoffs. I'm waiting on the first 50+ point game from Luka, he's teased us too many times.
If only they could bring it like this against lesser opponents then we have something.
