His biggest problem isn´t the shot itself. He can probably shoot lights out in an empty gym. Problem is that he cannot get open.
Can't speak for others, but I'm well aware that he has had a tough go of it this season. I do think his time in Dallas will be amongst better spacing to begin with, and that Luka will get him better looks, like he does with everyone. There's room in that translation for some optimism, I think.
But yeah, I agree with your assessment, and I don't think this is some great, needle-mover of a deal. I just think the team is in slightly better shape now than it was when we woke up this morning is all.
It's only negative when weighed against the expectations of some, and we'll never even truly know what they could've done and chose not to do, definitively, so I just choose to judge this in a vacuum. Redick COULD help a bit. I'm confident he's more likely to do so than Johnson.
