KP going toe to toe last night with KAT gets me more excited as a Mavs fan and provides more joy to me than trading for Evan Fournier or Victor Oladipo or whatever trade deadline messiahs people have built up over the last 2 weeks. But it seems like the overall NBA entertainment product now is more built on compulsively following player transactions than on court product, so trade deadline day is probably a bigger day than playoffs for many NBA fans these days. We'll compulsively over analyze all these trade moves for the next 7 to 10 days and over state their impact, and then when the playoffs roll around the Nets and (healthy) Lakers will steam roll over the Bulls with Vuc and Celtics with Fournier and Blazers with Powell, because they have the biggest stars and ultimately all these guys are just tertiary role players who ultimately move the needle about as much as THJ does.
