The Mavs are in love with KP because they see Dirk with + defensive ability. The truth is KP is not either.
If I am the Mavericks I trade him this year and there are options out there for the Mavericks to do that. KP needs to be on a team where he is the best player and can be the alpha.
I would also say that I think the selfish discussion was related to KP. His effort and concentration on defense does not match what I see from him on offense.
You cannot win with your highest paid player having that mentality. Weather we admit it or not that matters in the locker room especially for guys like Richardson that have had to grind for everything. Josh Richardson visibly showed frustration with KP in this game when KP didn't show in a pick and roll.
