With KP still out I think it was genius to insert WCS into the starting lineup. I like his ability to switch on defense. I don't know if he can hold his own against a bruiser opponent (was he matched up against Boogie? I don't recall) due to his slender frame but under the right circumstances, I can totally see him getting big minutes. I don't know if Powell will make it back to his former self but as of right now, WCS is the most reliable role-option for Luka and we coulds ee how great this combo can work in the future.
I always thought Timmy should be our sixth man and I hope this was not an anomally last night. I don't know how it shouldn't work but last year, he thrived in the starting role so this might be a psychological thing. We will see, since Rick is still in his probing phase regarding lineups.
Great game, great effort and it is always satisfying to see the Rockets and especially a fat Harden fall short.
I am used to Harden getting every call as soon as he drives, contact or not, but Luka did not get the same treatment, which was odd. The officiating was a joke overall, not only all the technicals (Boogies ejection was prepostrous) but also the sequence of the Mavs receiving one offensive foul after another was obscure. I will admit that it happened without Luka on the floor and our team seems to be totally chaotic when this is the case. It seems as if Brunson is only able to run the offense in an extended role (I was positively suprprised by our offensive structure in the Bulls game) but he could not reciprocate this off the bench.

Best game I have seen from Willie. Agree that he is not so effective against bruisers, but then neither are the other bigs. I was glad Boogie was ejected, as he was pretty much tearing us apart. I think with Willie, consistency is the question. I was happy to hear about how hard he has been working, and it was so much fun watching him last night.
Tim has a history of playing much better alongside Luka, but it's possible that's true of everyone, lol. Agree that Rick hasn't settled on lineups yet -- believe he has acknowledged as much.
Agree that the non-Luka lineups can be brutal. I look for Rick to stagger KP and Luka, so that one or the other of them is always on the floor.
