This trade is great bc the Mavs are going to get the exact player they tried to get the bargain version of last year in Delon Wright. J Rich can do some playmaking, can shoot and most importantly can defend the best perimeter player. It cost Curry but the fact is Curry was not a starter and a liability in the playoffs because of his defensive limitations. I love Curry but you need to prioritize starters over 6th men. Hopefully Mavs can replace the shooting he provided off the bench. Curry is one of the best 3 point shooters in the league (maybe history on a smallish sample size?) so that will be a challenge but you have to shore up starters first.
I expect J Rich to have a great year and likely be resigned in 2021.
