It took a Cooper Flagg lottery mulligan to begin to stanch the civic bleeding among Mavericks fans after Dončiċ’s departure. I will not believe that the team’s new owners decided they weren’t going to pay Dončić the $350 million extension for which he was eligible and, thus, were quite amenable when told by then-general manager Nico Harrison that he wanted to move on from the young star.

Yeah, I think it is pretty obvious Cuban would not have traded Luka. Although, he did lose both Nash and Brunson for nothing. Both were major screwups. Maybe cost him another championship along the way somewhere.
Also, let it be known that he run post championship was really bad. The funny thing, I still think Cuban is living in denial about how bad he was running the team after the championship. For years I put some blame on Donnie. He probably deserved some, but I think Cuban was the real reason for the poor direction after the championship. So while he would not have traded Luka, would he have been able to built a sustainable contender around him. That is debatable imo.
