Yes it is. His new contract with Miami is for $6.3mm in the first year. So Klay took a legit $3.5mm paycut to go to Miami. That's pretty unusual.
Maybe the 2nd year player option (fully guaranteed) was good enough for him to justify it.
The more interesting thing to me is the other side of it from the Dallas perspective. $9.8mm is an oddly specific number. I wonder if there is any significance to Dallas wanting that much extra cap flexibility.
