I hope so too.
My note that Ishy so far has been JAG in his play in Russia (as inferior a league as that is) was not a comment or diss about his potential, but rather about where he is in his development. He has not been a star there in the past (per game 8p 4r 2a in 24 minutes), despite being in a league whose level of play you see as incredibly inferior. He decided to put his name in the draft, making selecting him became a "now or never" proposition, whether he had mastered that lower level and was NBA-ready or not.
Now he needs to (and has the opportunity to) go back and master that lower level, show he can play at an NBA-ready level, against the inferior opposition, in which case if he does that he will be dominant and the Mavs will be EAGER to bring him over next season.
If he's who we hope he is, it should be no prob and he will jump several levels this year in his impact and shine brightly. Let's hope he does.
