As a Mavs fan I would do that deal for draft capital.  Does not have to be Yaxel.  But it would have to be something like Dan suggested where PJ goes somewhere else as he doesn't make sense on GS current roster.

I think Dan had most of the outgoing draft capital going to NOP because of the inclusion of Martin.  I'd rather just try my luck at selling off PJ and Landlord individually if we are playing the draft capital game.  

It might seem a bit crazy, but they've done weirder things before.

A complete reset, both financially and becoming more competitive for Steph's last push is probably very attractive for them.

They were shopping the pick and while Yaxel looked great, I don't think anyone thinks he's going to be a star.  A high quality role player sure, but not a star. 

Warriors suddenly become very deep, and PJ+Gafford are tradeable guys for after steph too.

Curry is 38 and they've tried to reload around him. Eventually reality has to hit home. You'd probably need to send a pick their way in the purposed swap (especially if including Martin). Would you be on board if we included LA's 29 or our 30?
