I didn't see this rumor, but I agree it doesn't make much sense. Lakers are quite loaded at small wing depth with Carr, Thybulle and Williams behind the starters. Vando would be more useful as a big wing unless they find a trade for another player.
I agree it might be too pricey to trade Vando. However, they can combine 2 guys from Hardy, Knecht or Laravia (all expiring) to get to similar money.
