I've always loved Holiday. There have been times when I thought he'd have been a great addition, even a year ago at this same time when most here thought he was done and too expensive. 

But now...eh. Say what you want about "timelines" being overrated, but I just couldn't get excited about it.

It's less about the on-court product this year and more about the asset management for me. I don't want to give Naji the extension. I don't think Klay has any real value. By trading both for Jrue, I not only get another competent guard next to Year 2 Flagg, to go along with Kyrie, I also get a valuable expiring next year of $37m, and his name carries some weight around the league...
