Clearly. Every single move they've made has indicated a long term view of the situation, NOT an attempt to be as good as possible this season. I feel it's objectively the "right" way to approach the job, too, it's just that I worry about the collective morale of this place when the other half of the board figures out what this all means.

Not sure who this "other half of the board" is that you are dissing, but what was said sure doesn't mean anything different than what we have all been saying. It was neither a prediction the Mavs will be bad, nor a proclamation that they don't care, nor a give up on what they want to be. It's just a statement they are in no panic, and will be deliberate in how they head forward.  

But if we have learned anything so far, isn't that just how Masai does business?

I does give ME a reassurance that the Mavs aren't even thinking of chasing a fire sale to get rid of this veteran or that group, but instead are seeing how the team will look when when they start trying to win. 

I think they will be trying to win, and win big. (That's not an outcome, but mindset and process.) But as they do, I think the message is they won't make big risky moves, and instead will be grinding and tweaking and developing and the like, and see where that takes them.
