Lively has played 98 games in 3 years and has been rumored to not be ready for training camp. Some saying that it could be career threatening. Of course, none of us know for sure, but to take a leap of faith and assume he will somehow play a full NBA season after already missing 60% of his young career. I can't get there.
Same for Kyrie. I think he could/would have come back last season if the Mavs are competitive... even so -- he hasn't played more than 60 games in a season in 10 years! coming off an ACL injury at age 34. Again, to make the assumption that he will somehow play a full NBA season, at an elite level, is a huge leap of faith.
Plus, as it stands right now the Mavs only have one NBA level Guard on the roster. One. It would take more than a Luka-like Year 2 jump for Flagg to make this team a playoff team.
1 nba level guard? Again I can’t take you guys seriously.
