No to Hurley. Some personalities are perfectly suited for the college game. He needs to stay there.
Killer: Every honeymoon will fade. No front office guy is permanent. As I said on another thread, even Masai was forced out in Tor. However, this is the first time in decades that I feel we have a front office team that is universally acknowledged as solid. Maybe they are not better than Presti or Connelly, but we didn't have a chance to get them anyway. The Mavs did try for Connelly.
If an organization hires one of the best that is out there, then as a fan I'm ready to live with the results. The results might not be favorable and they might be removed at some point, but even if Masai and Schmitz flame out, at least one can't say that the Mavs wasted Coop's timeline by hiring incompetent, learning on the job, type of guys.
