I mean Kidd did go from player to HC (with Brooklyn) from one season to the next. Then he tried a power play that off season that ended up getting him traded, as a coach, to MKE. So I guess you could say he has a history of these type moves and the new leadership didn't want any opportunity for it to crop up again.

Agree with this. Really you can see how this would play out when Nico was hired and Cuban sold the team. At that point, the situation is really a power vacuum that needed to be filled and wasn't. There were no owners, no true GM, and really no one answered to anyone. That's a situation that won't end well when you have personalities seeking power. That environment lasted almost a year. 

Some of this is on Cuban for leaving the place a mess. Then no meaningful press conference press conference for months ...until Ujiri really.

It was nice to see the head coach change .... and a press conference less than 14 hours later. That counts for something in my book.
