Obviously it seems VERRRRRY unlikely, but this time there's a difference. The origination of this story in not a writer's "what if" but rather Dybsanta saying "I might not go pro, I haven't decided."
It makes all the sense in the world that he will go pro, of course. But the college experience can be a lot of fun, rather than a job, and now that there's huge money to stay, who knows but what some really good player one day will decide they want to spend their age 19 with others their age?
