He must have some indicators that suggest they are unhappy owners or might prefer another city.... or something. If I was an investor, the first thing I would ask Cuban before calling in my assets is "They want to sell the team?" I have to think a lot of thought (and phone calls) goes into whether you want to be an investor and if it's worth it to start intense discussions on the subject without knowing if someone wants to sell.
Who knows. You may be right. Cuban has always been sneaky though. Could he feel like he will be bought down in the next two years and is making an all out push to keep his 27% or gain more?
I like Cuban. I really do. I thought he run was over. I would take him over the current owners. Looking back the last 15 years, his hands were all involved with all the screwups the team made. Maybe the reason the screw ups happen. There was a bunch too.
I also don't think he has the money needed to buy the team. Also, same as the current owners, Investers typically don't buy a team worth billions and not have say no direction. That also sticks out to me.
