I kind of see the opposite happening.  Pick on of "you don't know what you have until it's gone" or "absence makes the heart grow fonder" and add on the assuredness he'll have that the Luka situation would have never happened if he were still the owner.  And while that last part might be true, he had a lot to do with wasting the twilight of Dirk's prime with plan powder in that he completely misread how the new CBA would effect teams, was the owner who feigned ignorance of all the sexual misconduct in the Mavs business operations that made Dirk extend his career longer than it needed to, never took the draft seriously (what's Shane Larkin up to these days?), put us in asset debt after drafting Luka/Brunson with the KP trade, botched the handling of Brunson, hired Nico in the first place, and sold the team to a casino outfit.  

That's a long winded way of saying that he might not be last on my list of names to dig us out of this hole, but he's not that far off either.

I want the current ownership 10000000 times more than the scenario you just outlined which is very very likely if this were to happen. A control freak manchild emboldened to make more motonic decisions. Omg. Worse than the Luka trade by a lot.
