The Mavs are tied with DET and POR for longest active win streak, four. They've won 5 of their last 6 games, with a 14.6 pt average margin of victory. They are a game and a half behind the Clippers, for the 10th and final play-in spot. They have dropped to the #9 slot in the lottery. Also, a game and a half from falling to the 12th slot.
There are 13 days until the trade deadline. The Mavs have 6 more games:
Vs Lakers
@ Bucks
Vs Timberwolves
Vs Hornets
@ Rockets
Vs Celtics
They will likely be underdogs in all but the Hornets game at home. Currently 19-26, seven games under .500, what would it take these next 6 games for the front office to tell themselves they have 'a chance' this season, with a healthy Kyrie and Davis return after the All-Star break. Does Dumont really want to see those two with Flagg, and willing to write any check necessary to do so..? How will the FO get these players to go along with this "tank" plan, especially if the owner wants the Stars out there? What is the direction of this franchise???
