Gaff-Mathurin deal notes
Mathurin is somewhat less valuable trade wise because of his free agency in the summer. It's not only a financial issue, but it SHOULD lower Indy's expectations, if they are trading him. Their problem becomes yours.
For Indy, Gaff would be a GREAT get and a major upgrade. The Mavs should be well compensated, not begging, if they let him land in Indy.
Indiana is tucked right below the tax line. It's a going-nowhere season for them. They would almost certainly decline a simple Gaff-Mathurin deal because it makes them pay tax, and how that would be resolved might kill a deal.
I would be generally uninterested in throwing a pick into a deal (this, or any other). The Mavs need more future draft capital, not less.
