That's stated a bit stronger than what the article actually said.
It said the interim GMs "could" still be in place that long, rather than a statement of expecting that they WILL be. Different nuance. Just a guess, clearly, rather than knowledge.
It's possible that as long as they don't have a new GM, that could be enough for Dumont to say any deal has to wait.
From some of what has been shared, it sure sounds like if they want Lindsey, he might be able to be a relatively quick hire.
