He has a strong loyalty to the fans, but it must have been hard feeling anything else with the team.
Making him a bridge to the players and ownership as well as the fans and the ownership would be a good place to start if he doesn't want to be in the nitty gritty of basketball operations. I think he'd be really good in that role as everyone trusts him and he could make things better for everyone involved.
