Don't expect the Mavs to ever reach that point again in our lifetimes. A bad franchise run by bad, incompetent people, and is now known for being disastrously disloyal to its franchise players. Dirk was at the Lakers opener. It can't be overstated how over it is for this team.

The second paragraph gets into the trade’s aftermath, which is a second conversation. Your guess is as good as mine on that stuff. 

His conditioning was 100% the reason for his injuries, and I’m fairly convinced it wouldn’t have changed here (assuming it has in LA, in any consistent, sustainable way), as he had become a little too comfortable. To be fair, you can lay a little of the blame for THAT at the front office’s feet, too, and I get that. But, he was becoming progressively more of a douchebag with each year, and I’m sorry but no amount of losing or big LA Luka box scores is going to make me miss that.
