Great.  Even if they do not own their rights it is always nice to be an organization where players in their 20's think it is desirable to go to get back in the league.  For years their G-league team was as spare as you can get.    Maybe he, Kessler Edwards, and Brandon Williams helped changed this.  Or maybe Mavs realize that even though the odds are really small, you should try every avenue because you never know when or how you hit one until you try.

Great observations. 

I give the design of the roster a lot of credit for their increased ability to develop players to be useful, where they sometimes have an open roster spot to work for, but Kidd deserves major props on this front as well, because he uses everyone, it seems, and they all are probably aware of that. I know many here think Kidd is a crappy coach, but by every standard that counts for much in my book (in particular, player development, buy-in up and down the roster, and team results), imo he's proving himself to be one of the best.

Last year, they had Kai, BW, and Edwards at the end of the year, and earlier in the year Gortman, getting extended stints as 2-ways. The Mavs only had room (and possible minutes) to keep BW, but ALL of the others except Kai got NBA roster spots this season with someone. That's impressive work.
