Not the same because:
Parsons does not have near the value of an elite NBA player. I'm not sure an elite QB has the value of an elite NBA player.
Parsons asked to be traded. Luka had every intention of being a Maverick lifer.
The Mavs had just come off a finals appearance. The Cowboys don't look to be anywhere near that level anytime soon.
The Parsons trade return was moderately disappointing. The Luka trade return was a travesty.
