One thing that might be a holdup is the Cam Thomas deal with the Nets. Brooklyn is one of the only teams that could absorb some kind of cash deal\trade with the Mavericks right now. But until Cam Thomas accepts the Nets offer, the constipation will continue.

I think it is the other way around, as it is written in the article you posted. BKN are not in hurry to resign Cam Thomas, as they are exploring opportunities to sell their cap space. It is in their interest to operate as over the cap team and sell as much cap space as possible, before resigning Cam Thomas. So I think he is not really blocking any FA movement.
