Flagg I think is going to evolve into a PG with JK pushing him in that direction so I see that developing as a potential reality. If that happens and you have 5 PG's you now need to sift through to see who is a keeper and who is not, how is that thing going to play out? Assume he is a future PG and we have Irving still because he makes it back. That team reminds me of Irving with Luka except Flagg is a defender and bigger and likely a better 3 point shooter.
Now you have the same center rotation Lively and Gafford plus PJ and AD to play around that backcourt.
To me that possibility could evolve and force us to look at things a lot differently.
Those guys then are your higher minute guys.
But we still have 5 PG's have Irving, DLo, Exum, Nembhard and Brandon. What if Nembhard is a savant at getting the ball to guys in scoring position and shooting the 3 you keep him and get him a contract right so then who goes?
All of these guys can hit the 3 over 40% when they get in a groove even DLo did that in his past.
Even Hardy can develop into a 40% 3 point shooter.
For me you have to play the 2 way guy who turns into a defensive force to guard the other teams fast guards.
Which of our PG's is the fastest most capable defender that you would want to play next to Flagg at the point?
Exum? Or is it a SG like Klay, Max.
Are BWill and Nembhard still worth keeping as undersized PG's? Is Dlo a bad defender, is Irving still able to do a decent job on that end of the floor when he comes back?
What if Nembhard and B Will end up being better defenders than our expensive vets?
PG's are usually valuable enough that when you discover a good one on a rookie deal you can always move the vets and get back value so sooner or later we need to see what we have and make a decision and I Know that they are always going to keep Irving so your backcourt is Irving and Flagg, if Kidds vision for him turns out to be real.
Is it too much to keep Exum Dlo Nembhard and B Will as backups behind Flagg and Irving? You still have to find time for Klay and Max at the SG and both of them are better defenders to use next to Flagg.
If Flagg is then penciled in as a PG who is backing up AD and PJ? Is Cooper still going to move over and play the PF enough that it enables us to justify an arsenal of 5 PG's?
