So many thoughts about this.

At first, my mind went to the fact that Giannis and Turner are going to be a great, great fit. Turner is like a better, more versatile, more athletic version of prime Brooke Lopez, and he's going to create space for Giannis that hasn't been there for years.

But then...THEY STRETCH WAIVED DAME???!!!! On what planet does that make sense? Is there some type of relief that kicks in if the player retires??? Like, do they know something we don't about his future prospects? I don't get it. Dumping NBA royalty to sign a pretty good center (maybe top 10? Maybe?) and getting $22 million in dead money PER YEAR, FOR 5 YEARS seems...shortsighted.

And now there are reports of Giannis being upset about it?

The NBA just never stops being crazy.
