Just depends on their scouting department and how the board falls. Sure, if they've identified someone and that player falls to a range that a trade can be executed, go for it. People that say this draft is terrible or next years is great don't know any more than you or I do. The results of any draft aren't really known for a few years, even then it doesn't matter in the Mavs case, other than the player(s) they pick and how they turn out. The blanket statement that "this draft sucks" is always comical to me.
