I think there is a chance he continues to get better. So, I am not crazy about trading for someone who may take his minutes. I don't think the Mavs have any interest in moving Klay. His skill set is important for this team. Although, looking forward he seems like an area to upgrade. Maybe in a year or so. A 6'5-6'6 shooting guard who can create would really help this roster. Especially if he can play some point for stretches or play with a few guys who can all fill in as ball handlers.
So if you could find this player and add him to Kyrie and Christie off the bench. Then you have Marshall and if you had a 4th guard who can fill in as neccesary that is a good bench. I am not sure who that SG is. I heard Trey Murphy but he is not really a creator and is going to be extemely expensive. That type of player would be real interesting.
I'm good with this too. I think the Mavs need a playmaker and reliable perimeter threat, but it won't likely be perfect.
I don't see the exact player on our team yet. Every player we've discussed has warts though, and I don't want scramble what we have too much to get it. And like the poster above, I'm OK with Sexton. I may not like the cost though so I'm on the fence. I think we're better off keeping Gafford when discussing a trade for Sexton.
One thing I like is that the Mavs don't look like desperate trade partners. I'm not seeing a lot of rumors about the Mavs, and I think that's actually promising.
