The fact that it gets you under A2, keeps Kyrie happy and whole, possibly wins you the CP40 sweepstakes, gets you a young PG (insert your favorite name) that you like, and moves AD to more lone-Big, all has to be taken into consideration with a move like this.
Is there a world in which it is #13 instead of #22? I wonder if we fell in love with someone when we were scouting with the 11th pick in mind. Something to bear in mind...if we are doing a deal where we open up the TP MLE, we don't HAVE to take a point guard with both the draft pick and in free agency. One or the other could be almost any position.
I saw where a SI writer proposed a 3 team that sent Gafford to the Warriors and PJ to Atlanta. Dallas got Moses Moody, Georges Niang, #22 from Atlanta and a protected 2028 from GSW. The Atlanta part doesn't work for me. Moody and a protected first for Gafford? Moody is another Rich Paul guy. It is surprising how little his per minute production has progressed over his four years. His counting stats are flatlined. But, 3 places where he has shown progress...WS (1.3, 1.3, 2.4 and 3.5), Corner 3's (.243, .340, .315 and .435) and the last two years he's become positive On Court (3.3 and 4.8) and On Minus Off (0.7 and 2.2). When you think who he plays for when he's in, that last one is fairly impressive.
