This deal does avoid the 1st apron for IND by about 1 mil. The Mavs conversely add about 4 mil to their payroll (plus the 23rd pick rookie scale), but do solve the need for a PG.
That would probably fall into the too-good-to-be-true category, but Dan or FG would have to talk contracts for me to sound educated on the subject of the trade.
After watching McConnell last night, Indiana would be crazy to get rid of him, but they are reluctant taxpayers... so maybe.
