Otherwise in two years he will be out of the NBA. I think his value is very low. I have no doubt he would have been moved at the deadline if there was any interest imo. His flashes have been great. It just hasn't happened enough or hide his warts.
I have been working up a theory that these young players who played for the Ignite or play one year in college and then play in the G-league that it is not a good developmental stage. The G league is filled with good players, but it just seems like the games don't really mimic NBA games. It feels like you really cut yourself short by not going to college or spending a year in college and then get minutes in the G league. I think it is a good sign that more kids are staying in school (with NIL) than looking to develop in the G league. College has its faults but it is hard to duplicate the stress of conference games, Conference tournaments and NCAA tournaments. It is really hard to get those reps playing in the G league imo.
So you think in a couple of months the Mavs went from signing him to an extension to trying to unload him? As fans we need to remember that franchises aren't Ninja chopped and microwaved. I simply think it's impossible for that to happen unless he slept with someone's wife.
