Let me know if that helps or not. When I have time, I can definitely dive deeper.
Edit*
Hardy is a slightly undersized SG that can't dribble, pass, or play-make but thinks he can. It's a terrible place to be for him. You noted his outside shooting numbers as his lone positive, but even then - most of his numbers come from garbage time against other 'not so good players'. He's the definition of streaky and I'm not saying that as a negative because a lot of shooters are, just pointing it out. He hasn't gotten better at one single thing since his rookie season. If anything, he's worse at just about everything. I was curious if the eye test and numbers agreed and they do.
Per 36 (to make it apples to apples)
Year 1: 43.8 FG%, 40.4 3P%, 53.3 eFG%, 57.1 TS%, 82.3 FT%, 4.5 TRB, 3.3 AST, 2.3 TOV/11.1 TOV%, 21.4 PTS, PER 14.6
Year 3: 43.5 FG%, 38.6 3P%, 52.7 eFG%, 54.9 TS%, 69.8 FT%, 3.5 TRB, 3.2 AST, 3.3 TOV/15.4 TOV%, 19.7 PTS, PER 10.4
And that's just the offensive side of the ball, where he's supposed to be a plus. Defensively, he's even worse. At 6'4 he's not so small that he should get picked on but on-ball he's one of the worst defenders I've seen on the Mavs, and the crazy thing is, he may be even worse as a team defender. He's either incredibly lazy or doesn't care. Either way, he's shown for 3 years now that he's an inefficient chucker, that turns the ball over too much, and a very very bad defender. Zero improvement to his game and someone that will likely be out of the league once his contract is up, unless he has an epiphany of some sort.
Great analysis. There's no arguing that. Thank you.
