• Walker Kessler is available, but will be costly. LA contacted Utah about Kessler last season and it was 2 first rounders
• LA will have to upgrade the roster to appease Luka and show him roster moves.
• He believes Luka will sign an extension with the Lakers.
• Buha believes the Lakers will do something “aggressive.” There is urgency and pressure on the Lakers front office.
• The “breadcrumbs” suggest that CP3 will come back to LA. He’s been on the Lakers radar for the last two years.
• The Lakers would be interested in a Lonzo reunion, but they have to factor the health aspect, which can be a cautious thing.
• A Suggs trade will likely have to include Reaves.
• Brook Lopez could likely become a non tax payers MLE target for a contender.
Thanks for posting this. Kessler would be close to ideal, but Lakers have been after him before and Utah didn't bite. Knecht, 2031 and a pick swap or two is not a bad package. Would some other team offer more? He is up for extension and could command a lot, if he has a good season.
I don't really care about CP3, he would be deep rotation imho. Not sure where the need is if Reaves stays. I guess a vet min replacement for Gabe Vincent role. Unless Lakers are thinking about trading Reaves. Lonzo is probably a cheap secondary target, again probably makes sense only if Reaves is out. In theory he should be a good fit with Luka.
Orlando is one of the teams that desperately need offense and Reaves could be interesting for them. Suggs is an excellent defender but not great offensively. Again in theory an excellent fit next to Luka. Suggs has a 30 mil salary and Reaves has 12 mil before jumping into 30 mil range next season if he has a good season. Hachimura would be another interesting name for them due to his excellent shooting. I saw a separate rumor that Orlando is offering Black, Isaac and their pick for an upgrade. Probably looking at guards. I doubt Cleveland (Garland) or Atlanta (Young) would bite for such a package. How about a three team deal:
Orl: Reaves and Maxi or Vincent
Uta: Black (#6 pick from 2023) and Orlando pick (#16)
LAL: Kessler and Isaac
