Bad luck happens. Exum hurt his wrist and broke his finger in practice. Kyrie has an injury a lot of players have. Marshall missed a bunch of games because of a weird sickness. AD has had a bunch of 70-game seasons, and the last one was two years ago - but we call him "street clothes"
On the other hand, do we think Chris Paul is an iron man for playing 82 games? This is the first time Chris Paul has played 82 games in over a decade. If Chris Paul had missed the typical number of games most 39-year olds miss in a season, we probably wouldn't even discuss him as an incoming option.
I do think there are very specific issues for big men playing in the paint. I also think certain body types (Porzingas) don't lend themselves to a physical game. And there are things like tendenitis that you have to monitor. But I really don't look at Lively's body and think "injury prone." I think the first couple of years in the NBA require some very specific conditioning, and he's no exception to that. Just my opinion.
History disagrees with you. The NBA road of history is littered with with top talents never getting out of the injury bug.
I think this board WAY overvalues DLive. After 2 seasons averaging...
45.5 Games Played
35.5 Games Started
23.4 Minutes a Game
8.8 Points
7.1 Rebounds
1.5 Blocks
0 3pt Attempts
This said, I'm really convinced of Dyson being our best fit at PG. What would it take, if not DLive, enough for ATL?
