I have no idea how they make a roster that fits and/or keeps everyone happy with minutes. That doesn’t mean they need to make a move just to make a move that may not make you better as a roster.
I agree. There is something to be said for drafting Flagg and then seeing what can be done farther down the bench with Powell/Hardy/Martin. Wouldn't mind making a spot to see if Jones can continue to contribute. Obviously, the team is thin at PG, but re-signing a healthy Exum and seeing if BWill can continue developing while waiting on Kyrie's return might be enough.
Kidd is known for playing with lineups and rotations for the first few months anyway, so, unless someone makes you an offer you can't refuse, see what you have with the guys who are here. We never really saw a healthy team post-TDL last year. AD was out, DLive was out and Gaff was out until the last few games. PJ missed time with nagging knee issues. Naji had the suspension and some kind of nagging illness all season. We got positive glimpses of Jones and BWill in and around 10 day contracts and 2-way game limitations. And that was all on top of the time Luka missed pre-trade.
I realize this doesn't really address the salary cap/apron and extension issues. But as a fan, I am content with seeing what this team looks like before making a bunch of trades just to make them. Mid-December up to the TDL might offer more interesting trades not available this summer.
